Week of 08/24/08
23 Av 5768

How do you feel now? It's important for me to ask this question at this point in the month of Av. Why? Because we have been through a rollercoaster month, starting out with very negative and going to very positive. The thing we must always remember when we are facing darkness is that it only takes a tiny spark of light to dispel it. When we look at the negative events in our lives this way, we start to transform and see that life is not always what it seems to be. Hope is simply the ability to see the spark of the Light in all events and circumstances, especially the negative ones. We made it! We went through the negative part of this month and now we are experiencing the positive. Was it so bad? Well maybe, if you didn't have hope. Let this month be a lesson. Let it teach you to hope. That which does not kill us makes us stronger. The Light is ALWAYS at the end of the tunnel, it is our hope in that truth that allows us to journey through the tunnel.

                      Shavua tov,

Elul - A Month of Preparation
The new month of Elul begins next Sunday. We will have our This Month's Energy page updated this week. Elul is a time of preparation for the Ten Days of Awe which begins with Rosh Hashanah and ends with Yom Kippur. Our S'lichot Connection, which is a daily preparation for each day in Elul, will be available later this week. In addition, there will be a revision to our Weekday Evening Connection which will include a psalm that is said each day during this coming month.

Events
You may notice that there is a gap in events on the RSVP page. This is simply because we wanted to post the High Holy Day schedule since many have asked if we will be offering connections this year. More events will be scheduled soon.

High Holy Day Schedule
We have scheduled 12 connections for the High Holidays (Rosh Hashanah to Yom Kippur). This is the most important time of the entire Kabbalistic year, so much that we prepare for the Ten Days of Awe every day during the entire month of Elul (Virgo). Click Here to go to our High Holy Day page and RSVP for events.
