The Omer period invites us on an intense journey to connect with each S'firah on the Tree of Life and correct it within ourselves. A connection that lasts for forty-nine days. Since this is a time of negativity and judgement, we should be on guard that we don't judge ourselves or our progress too harshly. There are times when we don't feel like connecting, when meditation seems impossible. This is a normal part of our spiritual transformation. The Counting of the Omer is a great way to help us get back in the habit of doing something daily in the form of a connection.
